TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR OF OUR CLINIC!
What you should know about pet-overpopulation!
Thousands of animals are euthanized in Kansas City and surrounding
cities each month. An estimated 5 million cats and dogs are killed
in the United States each year because there are not enough homes.
The solution to pet overpopulation requires joint efforts in each
community from a variety of organizations. A commitment from each
and every pet owner to have their animal spayed or neutered would
be the key to end this predicament. Given the facts provided above
and considering that dogs and cats have a high reproductive rate,
sterilization is the most humane and primary means of dramatically
reducing the pet-overpopulation.
Pet Overpopulation is a serious problem that needs to be addressed immediately.
With approximately 1.8 million residents living in Kansas City and its
surrounding suburbs, we realize it will take a lot of work to assist
the large number of those who are in need of spay and neuter services.
Our goal is to begin focusing on the inner city where the worst pet-overpopulation
seems to be. Unfortunately, many of the people living in those areas
can not afford any type of veterinary services.
We realize that adopting from a shelter or rescuing an animal may help
save a life but it will not entirely solve the pet-overpopulation. The
solution is to stop unwanted animals from entering the back doors of
shelters . To get straight to the problem and begin to see a decrease
in the pet-overpopulation, we need to seek out those who do not understand
the consequences of not altering their pets and letting them have multiple
litters year after year - adding to the tragedy of pet-overpopulation.
We cannot do this alone! We need your help!
How you can help!
-
BECOME A PARTNER of Spay and neuter Kansas City.
-
SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PET! If your pet is already spayed or
neutered, encourage others to do so.
-
DONATE - Every donation counts!
Your donation will help to spay and neuter another pet and ultimately
save thousands of lives! A donation to support spay/neutering
vs. donating to a shelter will go much farther in the long run.
